Now

To be busy learning is amazing
But sometimes it's such a challenge
To figure out what to focus on
But my summer projects seem to be in place
As I help with a website,
Turn stories into songs
And continue writing a children's book
It's funny how life seems so slow
And yet by the end of the week
Things have been accomplished
And so life continues
Moment by moment
In a lovely bit of now

Juggling

I've never actually learned
To juggle things
To toss one at a time into the air
And then to catch them just long enough
To redirect them up again
But for it to work there must be no panic
Instead a rhythm must be found
That propels each piece to move
In its pattern as its needed
While still being ready to respond to
The next piece approaching

Social Media

Exploring different social media
And discovering
They can each fill different niches
Facebook reaches out to friends
Instagram can broaden my knowledge
Of community
Twitter informs about the world
How can each be used for positive?

Look And Live

Repentance is a word under debate
Jesus said to the woman
"Sin no more"
While Moses told those bit by the snake
To look
At the bronze snake on the pole
And live
An inner recognition of needing help
An external prompt to change
Or a call from John the Baptist
To repent
Each gets people to the same place
Of new life
Even as different key words
Are employed
To produce the change in the individual

Integrity

This word gets tossed around
In many circles
But what does it mean
To how I live my life?
How does it colour my view
Of the world?
How does it filter what
I listen to
Or what I say?
The goal that I am whole
Of one piece
And that what you see
Is what you get

Celebration

This is not it--
But the metrical verse has begun
As I write the stories in prose first
And then compress them even further
Into a song to sing
And this journey has taken just under
One year!
The first poems for my blog were penned
Last June
And now my first two metrical pieces
Are ready to sing

Thank You Lord, for this journey.

Change

Twenty three years ago today
A little baby girl became part of our family
And now she's all grown up
Married
And living in another city
Lord, the changes just never end
From birth to death
It sometimes seems the only constant
Is change
As I walk up my country hill
It is the changes of the seasons
That I notice the most
And yesterday's walk in the woods
Revealed jack in the pulpits and trilliums
That soon will be finished for the season
And faded into the background
